John is a widely recognized and respected tax attorney, general counsel for public and private companies, and international mergers and acquisitions attorney, with over 36 years experience. Over the years, he has served in a variety of business capacities, including President, VP of Business Development, VP of Corporate Development, Secretary and Board member, with both early-stage and mature companies, giving him a practical insight that is rare for attorneys. John has served on the Executive Committee of the Oregon State Bar’s Tax Section, was a co-founder of the Oregon State Bar’s Cannabis Section in 2016, and served as its Chairman in 2018.
